Joanne Peh is an effectively bilingual actress and host with over two decades of experience in the television industry. Her fluent command of English and Mandarin has made her a popular choice for hosting live television shows such as President's Star Charity. With numerous local and regional nominations and accolades in acting and hosting, she is most well-known for her gripping performances in The Little Nyonya and Last Madame.
Her first directorial debut of a Mandarin short film, Under The Tree, featuring fresh talents, helped kickstart some of their acting careers. She believes that our local media industry should be inclusive and multi-dimensional. She now runs a media company, Two Happy Media, which produces talk shows and her podcast What Do I Know, and a creative filmic arts school called The Dimple Loft, which tailors creative workshops infusing storytelling into the arts.
Eva Tang loves literature and films. Her prose was unanimously awarded First Prize for Hong Kong’s most esteemed Chinese Literature Award when she was an undergraduate at the University of Hong Kong. She later earned an MA in Fiction Directing at the prestigious National Film and Television School (UK). Her student film While You Sleep (2002) was the first short film by a Singaporean filmmaker to be officially selected for the Venice Film Festival. Eva was selected for the 2009 Berlinale Talents, 2010 Taipei Golden Horse Film Academy and Torino FilmLab. The Songs We Sang (2015) is her debut feature documentary, hailed by the local media and audience as one of the best films of the year, it has set a new box office record for local independent documentaries. It was honoured the Best 10 Films in 2016 by China film critic 桃桃淘电影 who saw The Songs We Sang at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.
Eternality Tan is the Vice-Chairman and Programming Director of the Singapore Film Society, where he organises film festivals and screenings year-round. He is also the Managing Director of The Filmic Eye, which focuses on film education, and an Adjunct Lecturer of film studies at the NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, Shelton College International and Nanyang Polytechnic. ET also started writing film reviews in 2007 and has built up a wide local and international reach with more than 2,600 reviews published on his website (eternalitytan.com), which won Best Individual Blog at the 2015 Singapore Blog Awards. He was also previously a Film Analyst at Netflix as part of their international contingent talent.
Remi M Sali has more than 20 years of experience creating long and short works, ranging from music videos to movie features. He is known for pushing boundaries when creating content with strong local flavour.
Remi was an award-winning trailer producer with Singapore's national broadcaster before he returned to his first love: directing. Effectively bilingual in English and Malay, he has directed popular dramas, telemovies, info-ed programmes and art series for local television.
Remi's fervour for telling inclusive stories of race, language and religion resonates in his latest independent films - Konpaku (2019) and the award-winning Not My Mother's Baking (2020). He is currently writing and co-producing a Singapore independent movie set entirely in the Netherlands, Salam Gembira (Happy Greetings / 愿你幸福), featuring Dutch and Singapore artists.
His feature films Lang Tong and Siew Lup were screened at the Singapore International Film Festival in 2014 & 2016 respectively and were distributed theatrically by mm2 Entertainment. Lang Tong is streaming on Netflix, while Siew Lup streamed on Star Movies. Both films were also acquired for European distribution by Busch Media Group, Germany. Hellhole, his latest horror feature, was released commercially in theatres in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. It was supported by IMDA Project Assistance Grant and was also selected from out of 243 entries for the IT Project at B.I.G NAFF and had its world premiere at the 23rd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Sam also directed the critically acclaimed and award-winning dramas Beijing to Moscow, The Driver, and Mind’s Eye with August Pictures.
Lee Chee Keng received his PhD in Theatre Studies (Directing) from The Central Academy of Drama. He has taught at institutions such as Shanghai Theatre Academy, Singapore Media Academy, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Yale-NUS College, and is currently a Visiting Professor at Sichuan Film and Television University. His expertise lies in examining social, cultural and political history through films and drama series.
Lee is also a scriptwriter, director, translator and researcher with over two decades of experience, and is one of Asia’s most recognised researchers on Shakespeare performances.
Besides being an active film director and playwright, Lee also shows an enthusiasm in writing for stage play and poetry, and has developed a strong interest in drama pedagogy and early childhood education in recent years.
Chow Wai Thong, Founder and Managing Director of August Pictures, is an industry veteran known for his commitment to producing in-depth documentaries and original dramas. Chow is an established and well-seasoned independent executive producer and director whose works have garnered numerous international awards and nominations throughout his illustrious career, including awards from the likes of the New York Film Festival, Asian Academy Creative Awards, Asian Television Awards, Asian Content Awards and the Star Awards.
His works include TV dramas Beijing To Moscow, The Driver, Crouching Tiger Hidden Ghost; Movies Snow In Midsummer; Documentaries Factory Towns, A Medical Journey, A Family Portrait and Inside Crime Scene.

Associate Professor Foo Tee Tuan, PhD (Ohio University, 2004) is the Director of Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS) at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (CCS@SUSS). He is also the director and one of the curators for the Singapore Chinese Film Festival. Before joining SUSS, he served at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan). Over the years, he taught courses in television production, visual communication, global media, and Asian cinema.
Thomas Lim is a Singaporean film producer, director and screenwriter living in Los Angeles. In the U.S., Lim is Head of Sun Entertainment Los Angeles which financed projects such as the Sundance Film Festival hit Palm Springs (starring Andy Samberg) and Netflix’s The Starling (starring Melissa McCarthy). In Asia, he is one of the most notable directors in Macau, best known for directing, writing and producing feature films Roulette City and Sea of Mirrors. Both films garnered immense media coverage by the local and regional press, screened at numerous festivals and cinemas, and were even incorporated into the curriculum and exams at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles.
