Annette Lee

Filmmaker, Actress, Musician

Annette Lee is a Singaporean filmmaker, actor, and singer-songwriter. She is best known for the videos she creates on social media, where she consistently connects with more than 2 million people monthly. A storyteller at heart, Annette sees her work in film, comedy and music as ways of telling tales that can touch lives.

In addition to writing The Cai Fan Song from her series The Ann & Ben Show, she has also performed her original music at festivals like Baybeats and Mediacorp specials.

In 2020, she also released her second album titled Song For The Underdog, produced by 5-time Grammy-winning producer Jerricho Scroggins. The title track went on to win a National Youth Music Award in 2020. In 2021, she was also the face of Singapore’s official vaccination campaign.

Boris Boo

Director, Content Development

Boris has been in the Film & TV Industry for 25 years.

He graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University and began his journey as a scriptwriter, conceptualising and writing more than a hundred scripts for various local sitcoms, dramas, and short films, such as Just Follow Law, Don’t Worry Be Happy, While You Were Away, and Recipe of Life.

Boris made his directorial debut in 2009 with Where Got Ghost? and has since directed many popular titles in Singapore and Malaysia. To date, he is one of the most prolific directors in Singapore, with 8 feature films under his directorial credits. His directorial works include Greedy Ghost, Filial Party, and Lucky Boy. He is also the head writer behind many notable TV/web series, such as K.O and Love on Cavenagh Bridge, both bringing him nominations and awards in the 2019 Stars Awards.

Saleem Hadi

Filmmaker, Theatre Practitioner & Writer

Saleem Hadi is a hybrid storyteller infusing film and theatre across social narrative productions, a filmmaker and bilingual writer, contributing heavily to Singapore’s arts and media industry since 2001.

Saleem Hadi runs his own company, BLACSPICE MEDIA, a media-enrichment company specializing in media/arts programmes and doing media productions. He has written, produced and directed 27 short films till date of which some have won in competitions and shown at festivals.

In 2017, Saleem Hadi won the 1st Prize for his English short story in the National Arts Council’s prestigious Golden Point Award Literary Competition. In 2021, he was awarded Singapore’s SKILLSFUTURE FELLOWSHIP AWARD from President Halimah Yacob for his immense contributions to the media-arts industry as both a practitioner and educator. Saleem Hadi is currently championing a nation-wide Indian short film archival project, THEINDBOX, under his non-profit arts organisation, Singapore Indian Theatre & Film Explorers (S.I.T.F.E.).

Ang Aik Heng

Executive Producer, Writer and Edupreneur

From script to screen, Aik Heng has produced and directed more than 100 hours of non-fiction and fiction shows for local and international channels, with some bagging multiple awards.

He was the producer for Mediacorp Channel U's feel-good telemovie The Promise and subsequently the showrunner for Chinese drama series Secret Garden, Jump!, and Scrum!. In 2016, Aik Heng's first Chinese feature movie script, My TGIF, was a finalist selected as part of IMDA's New Talent Feature Grant program.

Pushing the creative envelope further as a writer/showrunner, the anthology short film series Love In Transit tells the invisible stories of Singaporeans in their daily commute. In Playground, a limited online MeWatch social-crime thriller series, Aik Heng explores the pitfalls of sacrificial parental love. He was also a producer in the recent Viddsee short film series Faith In Humanity Restored, where he adapted popular local social media posts into reflective stories.

Aik Heng is a certified facilitator with Republic Polytechnic's School of Technology and the Arts, with 10 years of teaching experience in Art of Story, single-cam and multi-cam production. He is also the co-founder of education platform Vitamin M, with a mission to inspire the learning of Chinese through innovative videos.

Trina Ha

Intellectual Property Office of Singapore

Trina Ha is the Director of the Legal Department at IPOS, where she manages the legal affairs of the IP office and supports IP policy reform.

Before joining IPOS, Trina was in private practice, where she specialised in matters involving the protection and management of intellectual property rights, particularly in the fields of entertainment and the arts. She was the legal advisor for many local film, television and game productions and continues as the Honorary Legal Adviser of the Asian Film Archive.

During her time in legal practice, she was ranked in the intellectual property and TMT industries by the Asia Pacific Legal 500. She is currently listed in the IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists guide since 2020.

Eva Tang

Filmmaker

Eva Tang loves literature and films. Her prose was unanimously awarded First Prize for Hong Kong's most esteemed Chinese Literature Award when she was an undergraduate at the University of Hong Kong. She later earned an MA in Fiction Directing at the prestigious National Film and Television School (UK).

Her student film While You Sleep (2002) was the first short film by a Singaporean filmmaker to be officially selected for the Venice Film Festival. Eva was selected for the 2009 Berlinale Talents, 2010 Taipei Golden Horse Film Academy and Torino FilmLab.

The Songs We Sang (2015) is her debut feature documentary, hailed by the local media and audience as one of the year's best films. It set a new box office record for local independent documentaries and was honoured the Best 10 Films in 2016 by China film critic 桃桃淘电影, who saw The Songs We Sang at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.
